In the days around June 5, 2017, an unusual find of spodumene was made in Anjabononoina, the world-famous site for finding the huge rubellites and other magnificent gemstones. A large pocket yielded highly interesting specimens in terms of colour, mostly also clear, in colors previously unknown here. The stones are sometimes like amethyst, also yellow like lemons or in light to dark green. Multicolored stones also occur. They are mostly well crystallized, but with many vicinal areas. This stone weighs 42.9 grams.
