we found the senarmontite specimens in the 1990s in the maquis, at a considerable distance from the mine, which had been closed and inaccessible for many decades. This was the only deposit in the world where senarmontite was mined as antimony ore and where larger crystals were also found. Since this mineral has a Mohs hardness of 2 (like gypsum), the edges of the octahedron are usually somewhat rounded.
